Alhamdulillah, thank you Allah for having me exactly where You want me to be. It’s not really my comfort zone place but I wouldn’t have it it otherwise. I plan, You plan. But You always win. I just bumped into a beautiful hadith that came in very timely.  “Tiga hal yang merupakan pusaka kebajikan: merahasiakan keluhan, merahasiakan musibah dan merahasiakan sedekah.” (HR. Thabrani)   “Sesungguhnya manusia diciptakan bersifat keluh kesah lagi kikir. Apabila ia ditimpa kesusahan, ia berkeluh kesah.” (Q.S. Al Ma’arij: 19) I went to FAM (Footbal Assoc. Malaysia) HQ just recently. We are collaborating with them on an event happening in a week called Girls’ Under 14 Football Carnival, FAM 2017. Alhamdulillah I’m super excited. They’re basically in search, going to nurture and train Malaysia’s next ‘Ramli’ star player, in this case we call her ‘Ramlah’. I met the HOD of Women’s Football Team, Pn Normala Rashid, an ex-Malaysian Woman Team Player back in the good old days when I bet I wasn’t even born yet. A petite and lean lady who doesn’t look like her age (a grandma with three cucus to be exact to help you paint a better picture). In that short moment of discussion regarding […]

Why writers write

I had a great time meeting committed bloggers today with various interesting backgrounds, maashallah 🙂 There are plenty of blogger’s communities out there, but hats off for this one. I will fill you in, why. Founded, organized and spearheaded by one person, this group of KBBA (Kelab Bloggers Ben Ashaari) has designed itself to be a happy place for many aspiring bloggers. The man who started off as a blogger and became an influencer pursued beyond the unexpected when he decided to gather bloggers all over Malaysia to utilise their weapon of mass creation;  ideas, words & blogs, in order to help companies grow their businesses. Noble indeed. From a one man show to a union of think alikes come together to share their common trait of openness through passion for writing. I got to meet five of them including The Mastermind. A quick run though of their background: Nina Mirza (Mirza means Anak Baik) 1. Former banker with 10 years experience in the industry. 5 children. A very supportive husband who self volunteered to be a vidoegrapher & editor for the full time blogging wife. Has a quite nosey neighbour who intends well in keeping up with her work. YB Shehan 2. Former […]

How to Get a Natural Nose Job

Bismillah “Hidung mancung!” the doctor said. When we did the 3d scan of the new baby, that was one similar thing that Bettunia’s doctor said about herself too. Ok alhamdulillah that’s Mama’s little daughter/son then. Abah can try his luck on the third baby who’s not going to happen anytime soon. Hehe. I looked at myself in the mirror this morning as I was checking for blackheads. Would it have been possible the fact that my highly esteemed and distinguished nose is like what it is today, according to my husband I have big/long nose (bukanlah mancung pun! it’s more like unproportionately panjang), was because arwah Wan used to pinch it? She used to do that on regular basis as if I paid her for sessions of nose lifting treatment. She said “Picit-picit hidung ni bagi mancung. Baru nampak elok”. It actually happened when I least expected it because of course, otherwise I would’ve run away and saved my life. It can hurt sometimes. Maybe that sometimes, she did it out of shear geram or punishment because I can be quite naughty at times. I was just a kid. Anyway, I can’t help but being a Malaysian Malay. If I was supposed to […]

Current ladyboss VS former

My current ladyboss (CL) VS former one (FL) are eerily similar, but completely the opposite. I get goosebumps. Similarities 1. CL is in the marketing business of halal and plant based personal care products, cosmeceutical. FL is in the manufacturing business of halal and plant based health supplements, going into pharmaceutical according to plan. 2. CL is making us all move to a bigger place by end of this year/early next year in Klang. FL and crews are supposedly move to a bigger place end of this year/next year too but in PJ. 3. Both are ladybosses. CL was married, has kids (almost all of which are working for her) and grandchildren. FL is still single which makes such a huge difference in leadership and personality too, judging by the stereotype and unfortunately first hand experience. Both prefers their suffix to be Misses. 4. The most recent fact I found out is that, CL is obsessed about Coke, omg I’m telling you, FL too. FL’s favourites are chocolate (which she considers as salad – because it’s plant based) and coke. 5. Both companies’ parking compounds have pasar malam on Thursdays. So every Thursday, I have to either repark my car or park my […]

Interviews Review

Alhamdulillah, last week was such an overwhelming week for me. After the news on Sunday, Monday, when everybody was supposed to be on holiday, Nuzul Quran, I took some time off the day to do a job interview. Byond Success Honestbee Shopee.com Qdees Cosmoderm All either for a graphic designer position, content writer, speech and drama writer or corp. comm. exec. A lot of the interviews I went for, as soon as I reached the office, required that I fill up a form that basically reiterates what’s already in the CV. I do not agree with the typical Malaysian companies that request we inform them of our family background, race, religion, age, IC and other personal information that is just too personal and nothing to do with the professional job scope. Maybe I wouldn’t mind so much to disclose those infos after recruitment but prior to that, it’s just plain intrusion of one’s private space. Those companies could be selling my profile, personal details…who knows. Abe reminded me not to put my IC on my CV as CVs gets dropped and fly everywhere especially on the internet. Even a passport photo is not necessary. I base my reasoning on the way […]

Ramadhan 17, 1438 Dear baby no. 2, Welcome alive in the world of rahim 🙂 It’s the coziest place since you’ve given life, you can ask you big sister that. FYI, I think by now we (mama and abah) have already decided your name. We’re just excited to see whether you would be a boy or a girl. Ramadhan, since the past two years had always been nice to us. The past two Ramadan, we were given the news of our lives, the existence of your big sister. This year’s Ramadhan, you showed up! Alhamdulillah. I will do my best to keep you comfy. The rest is in Allah’s hand, whether He wants us to finally meet up (another blind date), or keep you for later in Syurga. Either way, thank you for making this Ramadhan a special one! 🙂 We’re so excited. We have been expecting you for a while now (a couple of months) and the wait is real. We could emphasise other couples who are longing to conceive a baby… Your presence is welcomed and brings delight but not in a very pleasant way, I must say. The way you first said ‘Hi’ to me was by […]

Right and Sad or Right and Happy?

Salam. Hai dunya dan seisinya. I was inspired by Yamin’s reminder as a food for thought. One could be patient by speaking out with rational and empathy about their thoughts and feelings without lashing out. This is because being stressed out doesn’t mean we have the right to be angry at other people. One could be patient by sharing a problem about another person without back biting nor exaggerating. This is because in that action he/she intends to find a solution. One could be patient by staying silent from the fear of the saying the wrong things. This is because through forgiving and forgetting, they hope they don’t make the situation worse. All in all, when we are presented with a sticky situation, seek to reconcile and be purified from the gift of tests. It’s about controlling ourselves to remain in control when all hell breaks lose. It’s about searching the wisdom in ourselves to act wisely. It is not about becoming a person who is more expressive through their words and actions. Eventually it will only result in more anger and resentment. It’s not about winning the situation. Would we rather be right and sad or right and happy? So seek right in the eyes of Allah not the wronged person, and we shall be happy. Lastly, […]

The Birthday Remembrance

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Howdy 🙂 So 2 March 2017 denotes Bettunia’s 1st birthday. Wohoo!!! and she showed no sign of interest and enthusiasm whatsoever. While most parents of 1 year olds would go nuts ticking off to-buy list for their little munchkin’s very first birthday party, we, on the other hand, proudly did absolutely nothing…krikkrik. Alhamdulillah, regardless. It didn’t mean we did’t love her nor we didn’t care that she just turned into a fully healthy and happy 1 year old big baby girl. It’s just that birthdays never excite Abe. So I just followed with the flow. I came from a family who would curse any of us who didn’t wish nor buy a gift for the celebrated person. It was a family tradition. Still is. I remember trying to break it once by not giving my little brother a birthday gift, simply because he didn’t buy me anything for my birthday the year before. So revenge on, right…a year after. I was in my teens and he just came of age. Probably a some kind of identity crisis hit him at that point, not convinced that I was his true blood sister or something, that made he feel exempted from owing me a […]

Straight Forward

Bismillahhirrahmanirrahim 🙂 so happy. hee. I know. I know. It’s been a while since I posted anything. My time had been occupied with an adolescent baby and…oh I just mean babies. Just kidding. Life is just not as straight forward anymore, seriously. Plans go awry all the time. Alas, we still just have to move on and keep planning. Getting a job was a straight forward thing for me once upon a time ago. For example my first job in Cheras, KL. After a month coming back from the US and staying at home sweet home Jitra, all of a sudden Mr. Father went berserk thinking their grown up kids were going to stay as noble monks in his grand cave house forever. He said get a job! So I applied for a job, within 15 minutes I got a call for an interview. I said ‘Yes!’ How easy was life. Mr. Father was quite surprised and happy about that but then remarked “You shall come and make a courtesy visit to the abode at least twice a week, in honor of your parents who miss you dearly…and prepare for your wedding.” Then came marriage…and mommyhood. I could set myself on the lose […]
